Class Descriptions
Ashtanga Hip Opening - Our Ashtanga Hip Opening class will stretch and open the hips, groins and pelvic region to decrease tightness and release energy. Hip opening poses are very beneficial to practice, especially for athletes and those who sit at a desk all day. We will begin each session with Sun Salutations then explore various asanas to create stability in the thighbones, hipbones and the sacrum. Basic knowledge of yoga is recommended.
Ashtanga Level 2-3 - This progressive practice combines postures, breath and movement to stretch, strengthen and cleanse the body, while focusing and calming the mind. An invigorating practice, Ashtanga Yoga draws on strength and endurance and the Primary Series is repeated in sequence and continual flow. This class is suitable for intermediate to advanced levels. Come enjoy the challenge of exploring your edge and the pleasure of revitalizing your body, mind, and spirit!
Beginner Basics - In this class, we will introduce the yoga practice through Sun Salutations, breathing exercises and a breakdown of some of the most common asanas (postures) utilizing strength, props and breath. It is a slower paced class and students are welcome to ask questions about postures that may be more difficult for them. Each class will be different depending on the needs and levels of the students, and some days there may be more explanation in class than actual movement. This class is perfect for absolute beginners, as well as experienced practitioners looking to deepen their practice.
